Because when I bought my VW, nowhere on the sticker or any info given to customers it said how much NOx it emits. Volkswagen might have lied to the government. Big deal, government lies to people all the time. VOLKSWAGEN DID NOT LIE TO ME. Clean diesel is a marketing slogan just like ECO Boost or SkyActiv etc. People just like to feel like victims and are crying on this forum. VW broke the law. How many of the cry babies in here drive about posted speed limits? Go and get a Tesla recharged by electricity produced in a coal burning plant. What so environmental about that. And why do I drive diesel? Because all things equal diesels are more efficient than gas engines. I like torque and I don't like high RPM.
Torque Low RPMs HP MPG are some of the reasons I bought
Along with a killer price tag I paid. I took a month, and shopped many dealers. Never set foot in a VW showroom.
IMHO the lie was given to me on this matter.
I never owned a diesel, and was impressed with the resale value on VW gassers vs diesel.
I got a hefty price when I sold my 2003 Golf GSL ~`~`~` and I studied hard the KBB values on my car. I sold it
over full bore dealer retail.
But had I owed a diesel (according to KBB) it was valued at about $3,000 more.
My decision to go diesel was like money in the bank ~`~`~` on the back side.
Funny the extra cost to get my 2015 Golf S Diesel was $2,950 more than gas.
Dieselgate has fried many owners, as we see here on the TDICLUB
