I'm back. Used to have a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen TDI, then a 2012 Passat TDI. Been away from the TDI world for too long.
Picked up a 2010 Audi A3 TDI a week or so ago. Has 145K miles. Did the Dieselgeek P2015 code repair and it runs like a champ now.
I am a bit freaked out about the CP4 fuel pump stories though.

I am searching away on the forum, but it looks pretty dead. Is there a better resource for these little monsters?
I suggest not using the site search and just open google to search for what you are looking for. Not being snarky, the local search is not real good. I find that google usually points back here most of the time when I search.

I bet there are more specific sites that deal with Audi, but may be limited with regard to TDI. I imagine it depends on what you are looking for. Suspension stuff seek an Audi A3 page, Motor stuff may be here??

What are you looking for?

No snarkiness received! lol

I was deep into forums 20 years ago, but as you know the landscape has changed. When I jump into a new platform (auto) I always look for a good forum to search their older info; usually a gold mine.

In general, just info. Since car has already been deleted and tuned, CP4 self destruct kit added, I'm kinda looking for some info on what exhaust mods to do for sound only. I don't want/need any more power since this is my daily. I am a very capable welder and have built dozens of exhausts for V8s and some 12v stuff. I like the quiet but some more diesel sound and turbo sound is always nice, w/o drone of course. With that said, I have yet to get it up on a lift to see what it has right now, so I need to do that first. Car audio is the next as I want to add Bluetooth and Carplay. The interior is a 8.5/10 and I want to make it a 9 at least. lol

Overall just wondering what the best overall site was for non-diesel stuff. I am still searching all the time.

Lastly, production numbers and model rarity.

Thank you again Ted!!!!

2012 Passat TDI SEL
Hello everyone,

Got a 2012 Passat TDI SEL with 152k miles here, got the fix and it's now out of warranty and is addicted to popping a 026A. I heard there are people who love these cars and would buy it, I was also told by the dealer to just get it deleted and keep it. The only problems on this car are emissions related, and they are perennial. We were trying to fix this thing up for my kid to start driving to school, now I'm weighing any and all options. Just got the DEF injector replaced and the dealer tried to fix the p026a again... popped code 5 miles down the road on the way home. Of course they want it back, it's a money maker for them and a money pit for me.

Nice car, the fix ruined the engine. I'm looking to move this car in the mid to long term I believe. I feel like it's a great car for a person willing to delete it and/or deal with the engine code drama. Just not a good fit for a new teen driver. The mpg is amazing and it's a solid little car, you can't deny it.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, if you don't want to delete the car right now you might consider having it tuned to pre-fix parameters. This will help in a variety of areas. I did that with my son's JSW after the DPF was replaced to prolong the life of the new one.

i tink i missed the introduction part, better late than never ;)
daniel, i am owned by a new beetle 2000 with a 1998 alh, goes by the name harlequin toot. engine was changed in 2015, it had been drinking water (thought it was the water pump), years later driving an hour in big rain storm, while motor still running, i pulled the air filter and found it to be full of water, it cost me an air filter and a maf, but not another engine (left it running/idling for eight hours, OCD, i know). pulled out the air filter feed, never seen it since, had holes in the plastic above the drivers side wheel, where the air for engine was being collected.
Love this place, i can roam around reading others, and discover problems i never new i had (and solutioning).
Thank you all!

This is an interesting link. I was not aware of programmable Gsearch. It seems BobnOH has set it up to search mainly TDIClub. Pretty cool, I will try this next time I am really searching!
In general, just info.
Just a friendly piece of info, You can highlight a part of a post and you will see a box to quote the message in your next post. You can even stack the quotes or use in another thread. {just don't forget to remove ones you didn't use, if you change topics} You will see a button to 'add quotes' at the bottom of your post input box. This is very useful in busy threads so you can highlight the part of a post to which you refer.

Welcome to the forum, but you can't be so new to the Internet that you don't know about google translate. You are putting the burden of figuring out whether others will want to do that and help you.

I do understand Spanish, but at least do the work. And please, use punctuation like periods!

I would recommend you do your introduction post in TDI 101 forum. Many people come to that one often.

Hi! My name is jetTed. Somehow I have been qualified as an old member, {witch i am arguably not}. This is not my fault. I just like to chat. so fhaters.

It is true, you should try English, which is a silly language, but is standard, haha.

Punk tuition and proper wording is what to which we strive.

Welcome. have fune. and
Good luck!

Hello! My daughter got herself a 03 Jetta TDI. She had the oil pan changed (preexisting issue), and now it won’t start. It cranks, but won’t fire, no smoke. We did crack the fuel line into the fuel filter from the tank, and it’s dry. I’m not a mechanic, but I’m just trying to gather info on how to help her. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!

That car will have an ALH engine, which does not have a lift pump in the tank. The first steps I would try is to bleed the fuel lines which requires a vacuum pump to get fuel to the injector pump, followed by cracking open the lines at the injectors and cranking the engine to bleed the high pressure lines. There's plenty of writeups on here of how to do this that can be found with the search function.

If you think it's a fuel delivery issue, crack open the injector line at the #1 injector and crank the engine over. It it sprays fuel, it's not a fuel delivery issue.

I'm from Poland where TDIs were and still are crazy popular, but all the forums seem to have died out. Happy to join a forum that's actually alive and has people posting.

It is nice to be here :)

I looked everywhere, after scrolling to the bottom and I can not find the Favorite Thread link. Oh well, I guess I'll figure it out.
