Ive had a TDI and been around here for 10 years but just got one with some power mods. It has a VNT 17, not sure what injectors and an RC3 tune. It is a blast to drive, and cant wait for spring to put summer tires on it and some suspension work. My questions are, Its torque really drops off over 3000, I know its common with diesels, but my old nearly stock one seemed to pull more a little higher. It has the stock Egr valve still with the tune keeping it from doing much I think cause the intake it pretty clean. I know that is pretty restrictive. I like not having a check engine light on for once though. Im thinking of porting out the EGR as much as I can with keeping it functional enough to keep the CEL out. Any advice?

Have you checked the usuals, like boost/vacuum leaks? Fuel timing? Snow screen not plugged? Good maf?

Timing is good, Snow screen is MIA, MAF has not been thoroughly checked, but It is clean and it runs well. I took it to my guru to have him check it over when I got it and he said all is well. As for boost leaks, I Don't think it has any, It pulls really hard at 2000-3000 rpm. I'll have to do some more logging and pay closer attention I guess. It doesn't smoke. At night in head lights I can see a very faint fog but is not noticeable in the daytime.

A vacuum gauge would be helpful. Apply vacuum to the actuator arm and check for movement. Put a vac gauge on the N75 with the engine runnimng and see where your starting vacuum is.
