I got new wheels! And... I got a little carried away on eBay too. Now I have two sets, and I really like them both, don't know which I should keep.
So, what should I do, oh great and mighty TDIClub members????

The options:

I voted the BBS wheels, but then... I'm a little biased.. :)

I have two sets of BBS wheels:

That... and I've never really liked Monte Carlos.

I voted for the BBS because you don't see too many Golf's with those around (here anyways!). I like the 17's better than the 16's on the Golf, but only if the car is lowered. But if you're not lowering the car, go with the BBS's because they look better with the stock ride height of the car.

I voted the Monte Carlos but I'm biased since I had them on my Jet \/

I think I'm leaning to putting snows on the BBS, and Ed I am thinking about lowering at somepoint, but that's a ways off, so we'll see. All good points, I hope I can affored to keep both!

The RXIIs are one of a couple OEM 16s that won't clear the 337/20th AE/GLI brakes (same as the TT) if you decided to go that route someday.

I think the Raves are the other one. 17" Montes, no problem.

Slave, very nice! Is that stock ride height?

Plat, very good to know. I think that's far enough down the road at this point in the car I can have some good fun with the BBS in the mean time.

When I was looking for my new set of shoes, I didn't see near as many BBS RXII's for sale as I did Montes. Somewhere I have a pic of the guys car that sold me the BBS RXII's with them on his Golf. Wait, there it is. Over there.......

They look good on red, don't they?

Yes, very stock ride height :) I don't know how people can lower them much around here with all the snow

I do have to say, QC has the absolute A#$#!@$#@Q%#@^W roads I have ever driven on. If I lived there I would not consider anything other than 16" rims as the max pain I could endure. There were literally chunks of road missing on my last trip to Ontario. Northern NB isn't that much better.

I think you should keep the 16's and send me the 17's for telling you the best set-up

BBS Wheels with bigger tires >= Montes > BBS Wheels with current tires IMHO :)

Tough choice for sure. If it was going on a GTI I'd say keep the Montes. I'm a big Monte fan, but Montes on a stock black 4 dr golf doesn't quite look as good as on other color & car combinations to me. I went with the Ariettas, even though I generally like the Montes a lot more, because I think they look a little better on my stock black 4 dr golf. The silver on the Ariettas and on your BBSes pop a little more - gives it a little more contrast. Were the BBSes off of a MK III?

That's a good point, the BBS really do pop on the black car. The RXII were what came on the 01 Jetta wolfesburg(SP?) edition.

I spent sometime looking at tires this weekend, and the snows are going to cost a lot for the BBS, but they are going to be performance snows. So, looking at how much they are going to cost, I think I'm going to run the BBS for the rest of the summer and then get the snows for them in the winter, and save the Monties for next summer. That'll give me some time with the BBS, and to think about the Monties. I'll post some photos this week after I get everything set up.

Thanks to everyone who posted photos, they really helped confuse me and make my decision harder! JK, it was great to have them, both wheels just look really good on these cars!

Thanks for all the imput everyone! The BBS's have won the day! They are on the car and look great, however the car is waayyyy dirty right now. I'm hoping to get sometime at work tomorrow or on Tuseday to wash it up, then I'll take some photos and post them up.

BBS's on one side and Monte's on the other. That way you can enjoy both depending on which way you park your car.

Personally Ilike the BBS's. :)

Okay, so I spent an hour washing my car the other day, before I could take photos it started to rain. Then, it rained harder. Then I was looking for an arc. So, I got some shots this morning while it was sunny, car is a little dirty, but hey, check out those cool wheels!!

Again, thanks for all the imput everyone!
