New LCA Model

For anyone interested, a European firm (Paul Scherrer Institut) has developed an on-line life-cycle assessment (LCA) modeling tool called "carculator" - https://www.alphagalileo.org/en-gb/Item-Display/ItemId/192598 .

The tool has an online graphical user interface and can be used to assess impacts for 21 impact categories from various vehicle technologies like BEV, ICEV-gasoline, ICEV-diesel, FCV, etc.

I really like the BMW X5 xDrive45e PHEV, but I just recently learned that Mercedes-Benz has a Diesel PHEV competitor in the GLE350de with the excellent OM654 and 31 kWh battery good for well over 50 miles of electric-only driving on the WLTC. Unfortunately, again, it's not available in NA. So frustrating!

It appears that ICEV-CNG on 100% bio-methane has the lowest adverse impacts overall of the vehicle technologies and fuel pathways, everything being equal. Diesel-hybrid is relatively low also.
