What's the best route in from Eastern Mass? I got off RT84 in Stafford Springs last year but it seemed a little too "over the river and through the woods."
Mass Pike - 291 - 91.

If you leave early and Russo's bakery is open, it's worth a stop.

Great canoli. Don't get on 91, just drive up 5 in Enfield and it will be on the right. You can pick up 91 just north of Russo's.

Enfield Produce, just north of Russo's is a neat place to stock up on fruit, salad stuff, etc.

I thought the ride from 84 to the GTG was lovely. Enjoyed it. And the less Mass Pike I see the better. I'm on that road entirely too much.

Is Lug_Nut coming to this event? He's a master at marking and putting B4s back together to minimize alignment changes.
I can make it.

'bout time I showed this A4 of mine anyway...

I like 84 much better than 90, but google had me getting off way back on RT190 back at exit 73 - barely even into CT. I think I'll try coming farther down into CT and getting off in Vernon and coming north.

Peter, you still doing the NHIS tomorrow as well? (i.e. you leaving CT earlyish?)

NHMS is Sunday. I think I'll prep theiata in the AM and then head to CT.

I think I'm going to come down early and leave around noon or 1 ( I have a birthday party to be at around 3). I've got some mild "clunking type" noises in the back of the Golf that I'd like someone to have a listen too. I'm thinking It could be a loose strut top nut, but I haven't had a chance to look yet. I've got a concern that if it's something else, I may be at a loss to pin it down.

The suspension and rear axle bushings are relatively new.

Time to hit the food thread and decide what to bring .......

I'm not a vet, but am probably rolling in at 1pm after leaving at about 11am.

Be safe everyone. Crazy storms all over the east coast tonight (but not in CT). DC, MD, VA, OH, WV... Millions without power.

.......BRUSSELS - I see you reading the thread. Want to meet up and have a mileage war? Passat vs. Passat?
Wow, if EVER there were fighting words on this forum!:p

I forget who did it first, but an empty diesel can put out by the road is a very distinctive marker for a TDI GTG vs the neighbor's party.....
Dare I say "CCGTG 1" ?
...Black car coming - tar? What tar?
Black has nothing to do with it!! Your Golf's too fast...tar can't stick!!

bhw engine core for chris hill

Edit original msg: Was gonna bring this old engine but it is maybe 300 lbs (too heavy to load into the trunk) and oil still drains out of it after all these months when turned a different way. Hope to hook up with brian btcost or someone else who hangs out at kraftwerke about weather chris really wants this engine block back. Or maybe I'll get chris on the phone?
