What do you guys use for oversized tires that work well? Looking at 215 75 r15 vs the stock ones. Car has about 1.4inch of lift as well. Just trying to figure out what can fit for some tires with a hefty sidewall.

I think 205 55 16 were stock on those -- at least that's what's on my Golf and those wheels came off of a New Beetle...

Usually, you can upsize an inch. You should be able to take some measurements: Load the car up, get it heavy and measure clearance above and at the front lower portion of the front fender lip with the wheel turned toward that side. It's the front of the front wheel when turning that typically will be a limiting factor.

That should be 205 / 55 16inch tires . There was also 2 sizes listed of 15 inch tires if you have that wheel size, depending on the width. I don't know what sizes.

Thanks scooper -- I was just reading a thread on tires in the MkIV subforum and thought "I'm a bonehead...not 75 but 55...

My 2015 Golf SE came with 245/45 / 17 tires, but the manual lists the 205/55/16 as acceptable if you have that size of rim.
