New battery

About to go to Costco and get an H6 AGM Interstate battery for my daughter 2013 Gold TDI. Do I need to do anything with VCDS(?) I know my BMW needs some updating of the computer when I change batteries. Does the 2013 Golf need anything? Thanks

It's not likely. If the starter battery negative terminal is connected directly to body ground (i.e., no battery energy management module on the ground cable), then no starter battery registration coding/adaptation is needed. --g
