In hopes of trying to figure out my smoking issue I was wondering if someone had a complete set of stock injectors that I could borrow? Would need them for a couple of weeks. Trying to get to the bottom of a smoking issue and my injectors are going to be my last attempt before I give up on the thing and drive until it decides to die on me.

I'm located in the GTA. Im also willing to leave a deposit for them if need be. Thank you!

Getting lots of blue smoke coming out the tailpipe. The car used to smoke a bit but nothing like this it does now. A month ago I had the exhaust broke at the cat and I decided to cut it out (off-road use only) and put a straight pipe on. That's when the smoke became very noticeable. When starting the car is the morning I get a puff but it becomes prominent when taking off in 1st gear and a bit if 2nd. It doesn't always happen but 90% of the time it's noticeable in my rearview mirror.

Compression checks out at 540 PSI across all 4 cylinders. I tried going after the turbo this weekend but couldn't get a socket on the 3 nuts on the exhaust side so I ended up pulling the intake side. No shaft play at all and compressor wheel looked good. Going to try the exhaust side this weekend but I can't see it being the issue. The only other thing I can see it being is the injectors or the valve guide seals.

I'm not going into the motor if that's the case and I'll just drive it for a couple more years. I figured I'll try some injectors for the heck of it. Car consumes about a quart every 5K. Any help is appreciated!

I usually fiqure blue smoke is oil, black smoke is diesel, white smoke is low compression or coolant.

"Car consumes about a quart every 5K."

Thats on the high side, if there are no obvious leaks.

If your compresion really is that good I would first suspect the turbo, then valve seals then cracked or worn oil ring.

How many kms on the engine?

Blue smoke is oil. Don't waste your time with changing injectors.

Do you have a CCV bypass? Maybe your CCV puck is plugged? Without proper crank case ventilation, the pressure in the engine forces oil to blow past seals. Usually, the turbo seal. Try taking your CCV puck off and going for a drive to see if the blue smoke is reduced. It will spit oil under your hood, so be ready for that.

Swapped a clean Intake Manifold / EGR Valve / Intercooler 8 weeks ago so I find it highly unlikely that it's any of those.

I've been driving around with a disconnected CCV valve for the last (2) weeks and no change.

I'm scratching my head with this one. I think at this point it's probably best to throw the old cat back on or a new one to reduce the smoke a bit and learn to live with it.

Did you check the pump timing? What's the IQ at? Oil level good (ie it's not eating it?)
Sorry, missed these. IQ is at 6.2. Pump Timing I'll have to check later this week as I don't have access to VCDS at the momemt. Had the timing belt by Vintest a year ago so I can't see this being off but will confirm.

Engine has 260K on it.

Valve seals?

your oil use is kinda high.

Wingnut is right: blue smoke typically means oil in the chamber.

At 260K km the vlave guides should still be fine. Disconnect the boost tube at the intake manifold and go for a long drive. It takes time for acculated oil to burn up in the exhaust system.
