Need two people: One with a voltmeter and one to turn the key. Turn key to start and hold it there (only hold it there if starter does not spin). Then take volt meter and measure voltage on battery posts, cable lugs, starter terminals. Find where voltage is and where it is not.

If you have no voltmeter start with cleaning battery posts and terminals with wire brush. If still weak see it jumping it makes a difference. If still weak then you will need the meter and follow instruction above.
