They are the slim ballasts by Xentec off eBay. 8000k bulbs. They fit inside the housing. They are actually great. I plan on getting 55w eventually though.Which hids did u buy?
T-town.Another Tuscaloosa owner. Nice. Where are you getting your service done?
Xentec.... that says it all. Two things I'd like to point out. 1) after about 2-3 months, these lights will start to dim significantly. I know from experience. I tried these out back when I was young and dumb. 2) You do realize that these are 100% illegal, right?!? Notice that there is NO cutoff in the pic you posted above? Unless you pointed your housings way down, you're blinding everyone that you meet, especially w/ the 8000K's. The blue light from these produces a ridiculous amount of glare. There is a Chevy pickup in my area that has these in both his headlights and fogs and every time I meet him, I want to run him off the road b/c I can't see due to the glare. They are the slim ballasts by Xentec off eBay. 8000k bulbs. +1 on this comment. If I planned on keeping my car more than 2 years, I would do this. Maybe the next one... I need to trade for one w/ 3 pedals. Then again, maybe VW will be offering HID's in the Jetta by then.hmm...i can see some flames coming in soon...
well, to each his own...personally i would have done something like what Jared did, but i can see that if you're not technically inclined, you might not want to go that route...
to each his own

When ppl ask me about lights, I do my best to steer them away from these "drop-in" HID's as well as the Sylvania Silverstars (for another time...), but some are too set in their ways to listen to reason. The dumbing down of American... "but the TV told me that ______" (Fill in the blank.)
*end of rant
On the flip side, the LED's look nice!
