Don't Worry
Filled up my first tank yesterday at one of these stations
http://www.pearsonfuels.com/ with full intent of putting Biodiesel in my car. I got scared because it had a warning stating "Only use when manufacturer states so."
.......So I filled up with the Ultra Low Diesel instead.
Don't worry about what that sign sez. We need to be concerrned about lubricity.
Early on, when we first got ours, I drove the 60 miles down to
PearsonFuels and mixed B20
with the regular ULSD. You will recall that both hoses come out of the same pump?
Simply tell the nice gal when you pay before pumping what you intend to do and she'll say: 'no problemo'!
If I still used bio and it weren't so far down there, I would still be doing that.
It easy to figure out the proper measurements to get whatever ratio you want.
Let's say you think you will need 15 gallons to fill it up as the light is on already.
Five percent (5%) of fifteen gallons is 3.75 of B20 on the pump correct?
Put that in, and then go the the straight ULSD side and fill it up!
Now you've got your B5. It does not have to be exact!
No mess, no fuss, and you didn't have to mix it up from a jug yourself. Luck you live close by!
As a matter of fact, I'd shoot over there ASAP and put in enough to get your B5 ratio now.
As yours is still brand new, it's best to get that extra lubricity as early as possible.
Can you take on 3.75 gallons of B20 now?
I did not do that to ours until it had 1257 miles, and I wish I'd done it sooner.
I believe that we need all the extra lubricity ASAP.
View my
Fuelly and go all the way back almost to the beginning. (03-12-10).
Good luck and enjoy . .
