Does anybody have this problem?
It occurs if I am going little too slow for a particular gear and have to slip the clutch some to prevent a stall.
I can also reproduce it by driving at a steady speed and pushing the clutch in about 3" or so. It starts to click when I release it.
When I brought my car in for it's 10k service, I had the dealer look into this as well as the clutch pedal vibration/engine burble that half of us seem to have.
Well, the response I got after a traveling vw engineer looked at it and drove it was this:
The clicking is not actually the clutch, but the fuel injectors firing off!
My response was " great, let's go drive a few manual diesels and see if they do it as well."
To which I get this in response. "Well, different cars have different parameters........"
Ultimately, I told the service manager that I am keeping the loaner until this issue is resolved. Also, if it is the injectors firing off under load, that all the cars will do the same thing.
He had nothing to say after that.
I am still waiting for my car
Now, before you say that I shouldn't be slipping the clutch, I have never worn a clutch out in my life. It is a rare instance that I actually slip it. It usually happens during low speed turns when I am going too fast to go to first and keep it in second.
I have never had a clutch click like this. Slipping normally yields nothing but clutch smell.
Is this the DMF causing this? Is it normal? Anyone else experience this?
Is it in fact, the injectors?
I feel like the dealer is BSing me to avoid doing clutch work.
What say you?
