You might wonder Why??? Well, It saved my lunch and a few others in the mountains last year, in fog/clouds and all any of them could see in front of them was my Rear Fog....

SullyTDI,

Your car is absolutely immaculate. I'm wondering though, is your engine designated as an AGR?

And also, have you been having problems with the trunk latch motor when you open it with the key?

Just one final question: What is your engine's output designation code (it should be on the build sheet)?

I hope all goes well with your car.

are you getting a small shake when coming to a stop...since blocking the EGR?

i'm getting a small studder when coming to a stop which doesn't seem to raise or lower the rpm's at all, it's a studder that comes on only as i'm approaching a stop sign or red light.

The small shudder you get when coming to a stop, which completely smooths out as soon as you stop rolling - That is a slow down shudder (SDS) and is related to over fueling. You can raise your IQ on your injection pump to reduce fueling and sometimes eliminate this nuisance. I occassionally have it bad with my 11MM pump and PP520s. I've been led to believe that it can also be reduced or eliminated with the right tune.

Thanks guys, I thought this studder was from a bad wheel bearing and it turns out that a tune may be the solution (they fix everything!).

A stock TDI should not have slow-down-shudder unless someone really fubar'd the IQ.

My EGR is blocked off by the PO. It was "dealer maintained" and the belt's due in 25k miles... so Buddah only knows.

even with 520 sprints and egr blocked off?

what is the shudder anyway? The rpm doesn't fluctuate, yet the motor shakes and shudders

Hm. Blocking off the EGR with stock tuning does strange things to the ECU. Sprint 520s alone should not cause it.

I've never experienced slow-down-shudder, but I've heard it's some engine shaking at at low RPMs when decelerating.
