Stuck Fuel Filler Door

I'm pretty sure that the fuel filler door will only open if the car is unlocked. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time :)
This is correct. All the doors have to be unlocked before the system unlocks the fuel filler door. Mine just would not unlock. I don't think the fuel filler door has an emergency release - it needs one.:)

This is sweet. If you can't have a remote opener from the cabin, I'd rather this than no security.

I was just making a joke since his avatar shows a VW emblem in place of the frontal lobe. :D However, he did seem a bit rude and demanding, so I thought I'd push back a little.

I think the pre-2010 Jettas had an electronic/remote release button on the driver's door (adjacent to the trunk release button). At least that's what's on the rental Jetta they gave me to drive.:p If you ask my opinion, the remote release would have been been preferrable to this new setup.

I was looking for a commercial clip of the guy walking around with a new beetle glued to his head.

I could've chosen a better word than "useless". Didn't mean any disrespect. Like tomo said above, resolved.:)

Sorry, didn't mean to be preachy. Compared to most websites I see, this one is downright genteel, and clever. So clever I missed the frontal lobe:rolleyes: reference.

I sure hope this talk about springtime for TDI Golf isn't true. Volkswagen USA always seems ready to frustrate its most eager customers.

VW's most eager customers are not on this continent. That is why we get what we get when we get it.

I also just bought a 2010 JSW, B on B - "stripped". Even with no options, I'm surprised at all the features....picking it up Monday evening. Thought I would read up (break-in procedures....) on all the vast knowledge here before turning the key - Thanks All!

This is probably the one you're thinking of:
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=252501

There's also this one (see the embedded link in the first post):
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?p=774649

Both of those, as well as tons of how-to's, are in the 'sticky' at the top of the 'TDI 101' forum:
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=60705

The second one is a bit more radical, and that site was done by a motorcycle guy, but basically the advice would be to "drive it briskly", if not "drive it like you stole it." Make sure to warm up the car first.

newbie

Just got my 2010 sportwagen TDI yesterday white gold with cornsilk interior, traded in my 2006 jetta TDI that had 114000 miles on it and just had the dreaded camshaft replaced, paid 26110 at Findlay Volkswagen in Las Vegas its the basic model no pano, didnt want a sunroof in the mojave desert, havent had much drive time but the car is friggin sweet! Just need to get it tinted. Feels a bit heavier and more powerful than the 06 Jetta, and a hell of a lot quieter.

Good Show!

:)

We want one like yours, only with the dark interior, not the cornsilk interior.
Love your color.

Hate the S/R. The one we test drove had a Pano roof and it was so hot inside,
the A/C had a tough time cooling off the interior. And that car was White.
I couldn't leave my bare hand on the inside of the glass of that roof or
I would get a good burn. That sliding cover does little good IMHO.

We have an Azera (excuse my French!) until the car is bought back
by Hyundai under the Song-Beverly act here in Kalliforneia.

Am I assuming correctly from the price you paid that you got the DSG?

I know Findlay VW in Henderson is cutting some pretty fair deals, unlike many of
the dealers here abouts. If only they were closer to your location, but you are
driving a TDI, and you won't be making that long trip too often let's hope.
Some of the stealerships here in Kalliforneia are asking and
getting as much as $5K over Monroney! Can you believe?

The only fair dealer I know of here for sure that does not try to charge "Market Adjustment"
is Capo VW. Never has and never will according to the owner, Miles Brandon.

Enjoy your beautiful Sportwagen, and Good Luck!

:D

Pictures Won't Help You

Oh man could you please post of pic of that White GOLD!!!!
:)

Unless the camera used is really a good one, it is impossible to tell.
The color is simply to close to the Reflex Silver color that it is very hard
to tell those two colors apart unless one sees both colors side by side.

I've seen several different models over the last few days and I do love the White Gold.
To me it's sort of a gold and silver mix somehow, and not really a white gold mixture.
You'll simply have to view one for yourself and decide. You may like it.

I don't think the 2010 Sportwagen brochure color patches are very accurate.
Again, you must be the judge. ;)

:)

Now those are some pretty true color pictures, and the color is about as close
as one can get without actually being there and viewing the color in person.

I saw them both times in very bright sunlight. They appeared to have more silver however.

Thanks.

I commute from Pahrump, Nevada to Las Vegas everyday I work, about 120 miles round trip, mostly highway, with a mountain pass with a 3500 foot elevation change, 70 to 80 mph, Im getting about 40 mpg and thats with a fairly lead foot, trying to work the engine and give it a proper break in.

I saw a Tiggy in the white gold at the auto show in Detroit and just fell in love with the color. Of course I couldn't get the 09 JSW in that color or a Diesel Tiggy and now I'm betting I won't be able to get a Golf in that color either!

Lew, why do you say that?

Why won't you be able to get a Golf in White Gold if in fact VW makes White Gold available in the Golf?
This color has been around in the VW lineup for some time don't you know?

One of several White Gold VWs I've seen was a 2005 New Bettle Ragtop
with a stupid looking red colored soft top. Looked kind of funny.

My point is that White Gold is not a new color for VW, but
is only newly introduced to the Jetta line for MY2010.

Derrel, I think it's past your bedtime. Or you've had one too many. Or both. :D Lew's got Lyme disease and he's making more sense than you.

The 2010 Golf is not available in White Gold. At least, not here in the U.S. I'm not sure if it's available in that color elsewhere.

Who Cares What You Think?

Well for your information, I don't drink because I have diabetis.

If it is past my bedtime smartypants, what about yours?
It's three hours later there than here. So who's past their bedtime.

I'm glad you know so dam much! Tell us how you know whether or
not VW will offer the 2010 Golf with or without White Gold?
Do you have the 2010 Golf brochure? Good if you do, but I haven't seen one yet.
I do have a brochure for the 2010 Sportwagen, and I had it prior to the
car arriving at any dealership in the US, but not one for the 2010 Golf.

As far as Lew is concerned, you evidently know him and I don't.
As far as him having Lyme disease, I know nothing about that problem or what is does to a person.
Judging from his profile, it would seem to this old man that he is completely
able to take care of himself and for that matter to speak for himself.

As far as I am concerned young man, you should speak only when spoken to.
Keep your stupid opinions to yourself because I'm not the least bit interested in what you think!

That's what I always have not liked about some engineers. They think they're so darned
smart, when in reality, they're not smart enough to know how dumb they really are.

You think you know so much about VWs? How many have you owned?
I've had only three. All brand new. The first was a 1977 'C' model diesel (1457CC) tudor.
But you were two young when that one first came out weren't you?
My next was a 1978 'L' model diesel four door that I turboed
myself and changed the gears to improve performance.
My last was a 2002 TDI slushbox Wagon, Upsoluted and with Kerma's PP520s,
and it was a real runner. But you know all about them don't you?

I'm really sorry that you have such a low opinion of yourself and that you stay up
much too late yourself and know more about the 2010 Golfs than anyone else!

I simply thought VW would indeed have the White Gold color
available in the '10 Golf. I'm still not sure that they don't!

Can you name and tell us how many different VWs were and are available in White Gold?

Good to bed young'un and please don't be so offense.
Realize that you DO NOT KNOW IT ALL.

:(
