congratulations on your new car

Congratulations! I purchased my new tempest blue ext. and beige interior 2011 Jetta 2 weeks ago. I immediately planned a trip to my daughters in Suffolk, Va. for the next week. I drove straight thru 16 hours with 3 hours sleep at a rest stop. I drove a little faster than most 65-80 and managed 41 mpg varying my speed a little. I will go a little slower on the way home since i have 2 days to make the drive to Pensacola,Fl. Post some pics of your car when u take delivery.

Thanks I will, hopefully it's on the showroom floor, it's the most expensive Jetta out right now so maybe. That mileage is incredible for such a fun and near mid-size car. I have a friend that was a service guy at VW and he would drive a TDI Jetta from Houston to Dallas (about 4 hours) and he would drive 80mph average and still get ~40mpg. I'm driving a Ford F150 now so I'm looking forward to anything over 18mpg!

I have to enjoy saying that until the GLI is available. The TDI will still cost more but has less amenities. There are things I wish it had but I'll take that Turbo Diesel over paddle shifters, Full MFD and Dual Zone Climate.
