Hoping to get a little more sound out of the tdi now that it has a little power behind it with a tune.
Will a muffler or resonator delete make any difference? Maybe deleting both will do the trick? As far as performance and fuel economy, I’ve read that there is nothing to gain, but I’m looking forward to a little project anyways. As long as it won’t degrade my performance noticeably, I think I’ll be able to live with myself.

Correct me if I’m wrong but just from driving the car I believe my 2015 jetta tdi has a resonator. Still haven’t looked up under it yet but my ears tell me it has one.

Has anyone done a muffler/resonator delete on this engine who can attest to a sound difference? Thoughts?

Also, any sensors in the exhaust I should be worrying about? I know there’s a sensor for the cat and A back pressure sensor for the DPF, are there any I should be avoiding if I were to modify the resonator-back portion of the exhaust?

There are just too many to list....
If it still has a turbocharger, pre-cat, DPF, main cat, deNox cat, throttle flap, between the engine and the muffler, then removal of the muffler is not going to add much sound.

Even with ALL of that completely gone after the turbo, there is still not much sound to be had. I pull straight piped (post turbo) deleted CR TDIs in and out of our shop all the time, you'd never know from the sound inside the car. Outside, a wee bit more, but not a lot. The tiny turbocharger does a good job of chopping up most of the noise. It does add a lower, meaner "tone" to it, however.
