Hey all. When will the mud flaps be available for the 2012 passat sedan?
I just got my white SE tdi and love it. My wife has a 2004 jetta tdi. Love it too.

I have them on the 2005 Passat and do not like them. When backing up against a curb they can get bent too easily. Just my opinion, but like to let everyone know the facts and decide on their own.

I am speaking of the 2012 Passat. I have not seen mudflaps. Even VW america sent me a link to the mudflaps for 2006+ which I think are totally different from my passat.

I'm referring to generic flaps, not custom molded. Never cared for the ones that came with my Jetta. They don't drop enough and they wrap around the fender -- creating unsightly contrast with light paint colors. In all fairness is better than nothing.

Hey...they're still trying to figure out how to get their cars to the consumers...the mud flaps can wait!

With all the torque from this little 2.0 beast maybe someone will develop a retractable plow that drops down in front of all 4 wheels for winter driving. ;)

Look again...all you need is a lowering kit...the plow is already there...although you might want to block off the grill...

Folx,

any good flaps out there ? I drive my car on dirt roads in PA and get mud sprayed all over the place :(

There seem to be folx out in China selling "OEM" flaps for $20-something ... hoping to find something already in US of A :)

I'm still waiting for OEM...I've been asking almost weekly. Don't know where MyAvocation got his recommended after-market flaps, but I don't believe they're for a 2012 Passat.

search for "B7 passat mud flaps" on Ebay. Since I haven't received the set yet (having placed the order 1 hr ago, it will likely be a week or 2), I don't want to recommend any particular seller.

I bought lots of stuff from sellers in China, HK and Korea, never an issue.

I bought a set off ebay. They needed to be fitted slightly in one or two spots, but otherwise worked fine. I believe I paid $25 or so shipped.

Can you link to the precise ones you got?

So VWoA doesn't have any yet? I'd like to get a set for our Passat, they have really made a difference on our previous cars.

Nuttin' so far, still waiting for them to come in. Shipping from mainland China takes a while, HK is so much faster

TDIATLAST just contacted me yesterday about these mudflaps.

I sent an email to the Vw accessories team and they replied that they expect the OEM Splash Guards to be available in June.

I was at a dealer yesterday, I'm considering a new Passat, and he said I could order VW mud flaps with the car, or have the dealer install them. He said that since they install under the sound deadening material it takes a while to install them properly. He said it cost about $150 just to install them. Not sure on cost of mud flaps or how available they actually are. I am going back tomorrow and I will see if I can get more info/part numbers.

Ask your dealer for visual proof, or an intall sheet, to back up his claim.

Unless VW has dramatically re-engineered the mud flaps, this is BS...until someone here has actually SEEN the mudflaps installed.

I, too, ordered a set from E-bay last month. They came in last week and I installed them. I'll take pics this weekend and post them. Not bad for $22. They use the existing 2 screws on the front and I think it was 3 in the back wheel well. No interference with sound proofing or anything like that.

Not a perfect fit on the back wheel wells, but close. The front ones pit pretty well. If I see the OEM ones that were mentioned above and they fit better, I might buy those (depending on price).
