Who has the most miles on their PD?
I'm only at 50k with my 04 Golf, and I have run 505.01 since the first day. Are there any documented 505.01 oil only owners with cam/lifter problems in their cars? I'm wondering if I should plan on keeping it for the long haul or sell while the value is still fairly high as there are a lot of miles before timing belt left and buy an 03 or older to avoid alltogether costly PD failure in the future.
Thanks for the feedback on the valvetrain durability with 505.01.

What if any problems have you had?
Just small things - antenna, clicking turn signal relay, kinked sun roof drain.

Oh man. Your car is doomed. You'd better sell it to me, quick, before that 505.01 requirement catches up with you... pretty much on borrowed time right now. Heck, I'll be generous, I'll give you... $11.47 in change and two non-winning Mega Millions tickets from last year. It's a manual transmission, right? :D

Just kidding. Your PD is FINE. QUIT WORRYING ABOUT IT.

You've used 505.01 Certified oils from day one? Always used an OEM or better oil filter? Stuck to 10k OCIs? Your cam will outlast the body. Drive the car and enjoy it.

Relax. Don't worry. Have a homebrew.

Ahh yes, the clicking turn signal relay. Replaced it myself once. It still clicked like a telegraph operator with rabies.

I found out that the problems resides in the $90.00 turn signal arm assembly. The stealer also wants $250.00 in labor to replace it.

The solution I found is to not let your signal lever auto-return. Once I started manually returning the signal lever to center the problem went away. Fixed for now!

I drove my '05 Jetta Wagon (BEW) off Tom Harper's in Knoxville on March 31, 2006 with about 200 miles on the clock. Just over 2 years later, I have now travelled 87K miles... no problems. A creaky passenger door is about it. Why don't I just apply some heavy grease?

Has anybody put more miles on an MkIV '05 than me?

55 thousand miles on my 2005 Wagon....No problems. Just replaced the tires from the Michelin Energy's to a Goodyear Triple tred?? Best mileage is 46. 505.01 exclusively. Curious about how the Goodyears will affect the mileage.
