Haven't posted here in a LONG time. Car has changed a bunch since the last time I posted pics.

Here's some random pics that I took a while back and never posted.

Comments always appreciated.

Yes, so nice.

I've seen your car on vortex before. Love the entire theme; white lettering on tires, red tow hook, wheel choice, BLACK.

Are those the stock head lights? I'm wondering how some joey mod action would look. or HIDs....

Maybe I'm biased because I have 2, but the MKIV's are my favorite model, nice job on the pics too.

Thx dood.

The headlights are stock, but I have painted just the chrome lip that runs around the outer of the headlight (ie: like you would see on a GLI). Not a fan of Joey'd headlights, too much black. OEM HIDs would be ideal....but spending $1000+ on headlights is not exactly practical at the moment (student).

JasonP: Have 2 MKIV's in our garage as well :)

Definetely not done with this car yet, life is getting busier by the day so I find I have less and less time to work on it.

^???
I don't check TDIClub everyday.

Wheel specs are as follows:
Front: 18x8 et50, 25mm adapter = et 25 final. 235/40/18
Rear: 18x9.5 et55, 25mm adapter = et30 final, 255/35/18
- The wheels are off a Porsche, so bolt pattern is 5x130, so adapters are used to allow them to fit on the 5x100 hub.

With adapter, bolt pattern is now 5x130, wheel can now be mounted:

Don't take offense, I was just screwing around.;)

Love the tire wheel combo on your car. Any trouble with the tires rubbing wheel wells on spring compression?

^hehe no, just a regular dood with a camera :) Nothing fancy either, just a Canon A540. I've yet to use the full potential of this camera, been doing some reading over the winter so I hope I can get some nicer pics this year.

The car is going to be getting some serious upgrades for 2009 once the weather warms up a bit...so stay tuned...

Updates....

2009 - Makeover

So the car had stayed exactly the same for 2007 and 2008. Was happy with the way it looked but I wanted to do more. With those wide wheels in the back I knew there was potential for this thing to look bad ass.

I picked up a set of Rieger skirts + Rieger rear valence from a friend on Eurodrivers.ca when he parted out his Jetta. The sides were in great shape but the rear needed some work as you can see here:

Had never worked on ABS pieces before so it was something that took a bunch of researching. Using 3M panel adhesive we were able to fix those cracks. That stuff is crazy strong. The piece was then sanded down and smoothed out using Evercoat. I lost the in progress pics, damn it. The pieces were painted and were ready for install.

I had been wanting to do a mufflerectomy for some time so now was my chance to do so to nicely fill up the Rieger rear. Muffler was cut out, straight pipe welded in, and it leads to some fat dual 3.5" tips coming out the back end.

A Van Aaken tuning box was also installed for some power + smoke gains. :burnout:

The final product......

Pokin with some fat tips:

2010 - Got kms?
Car hit 255k in 2010. Driven daily year round.

Only change this year was a switch to 225/40/18 Bridgestones on the front, and the white tire lettering was also removed.

My free source of fuel....

2011 - The Final Chapter.....

The final change: Le tint = Gone. Took me 2 hours, a steam gun, and a razor blade...finally did it.

Thats it. Thats all. This is how it's going to stay.

Very happy with the final product, just going to focus on keepin her clean and enjoying every second driving it for many hundreds of thousands of kms to come.

Once again, thanks to all who have contributed; whether it be giving a helping hand, or answering a question I may have had. Mad props to all of you.

Not many pics from 2011 because I was injured in an accident, here they are:

Your car looks amazing, I liked the white lettering and the tint, although car still looks sharp as is today. Any reasons why you removed the tint?

What are the details on that hood deflector? It looks great on there. Subtle!

Is that an OEM part of aftermarket?

Awesome looking car. Very clean lines, even though I don't like the Rieger rear lip. Everything else is great. The LM's looks great. Thanks for sharing.

J: The hood deflector was aftermarket....I believe the brand name was "Perfect Fit". The first owner had it installed when he bought the car. I was double minded about having it on but I decided to keep it there. Boy was that a good decision.

99% of my driving is highway (single lane).... I can't count the number of HUGE rocks that thing has shot up and over the car. It lasted almost 7 years before finally meeting its demise against a rock that smashed not only the deflector but my windshield as well. Yikes.
