Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5w40 Safe to Use?

Can I use Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40 in my '15 Q5 TDI?
Container says suitable for diesel engines with DPF but it doesn't list the VW 507.00 spec on it.

I don't think it is. You need to be using a 5w-30 oil for the Q5.

As said in your other thread asking about your passat, same goes for this. These are even more expensive to repair if something goes wrong. If you are within dieselgate warranty, and something major goes wrong and needs repairs, VW/Audi asks for your service history. If they see youre using the wrong oil, they wont cover anything. Save yourself the headache and just use the proper oil.

507 is specifically 5w30 or 0w30 so no 5w40 should technically meet that spec. The identical brand oil in 5w30 would... I run mercedes CRD spec 5w40 in my cayenne and will be switching my A7 to similar.

The engine would like it. The DPF not as much. The CK4 spec allows 1% ash vs. .6% for the 507 spec.
