Whatcha gonna do with all that oil? You have a hording complex, seek help! That's really not living in the real world. OK, ya think yer gonna resell it at some phenomenal profit? Get a life dude.
Im gonna use it. No way im gonna sell any of it, with all the oil I use. (Know who i am and what i do before you judge)

There is no mid year 6.0 2003 model. Early 2003 trucks still had the 7.3 powerstroke and mid year they changed to the 6.0L. You do have the really cool sounding turbo though.
6.0 was introduced in 2003.25 and you're right, the first quarter of '03 still had the 7.3. By "middle year models," I meant the '04 and '05 (confusing way of putting it, now that I go back and read). I went back and edited my earlier post for clarification.

Yes, the turbo is awesome. Makes a bit more power than the newer 6.0 turbos, too.

Thought I'd missed the boat on this one but just picked-up six jugs. I do bypass 20K OCIs so I'm good for another 100K miles. Awesome deal.

That's great and all, but this is a thread about the M1TDT sale at Auto Zone.

Redline makes great oils, but to say you can ONLY use one brand of oil, that's very suspect.

TDT works great in PD and VE TDIs.

Local store was sold out and didn't seem willing to order any. Went home and called back to the store and luckily got someone that checked the computer system and they had 9 gallons sitting at the hub. They had them waiting for me this morning, original receipt had the $29.99 price tag on it and they rang up $12.99. Between the TDI and my Isuzu 4JG2T, it should last me a couple of years. I have always been a fan of Rotella T6, can't go wrong at this price though.

Picked up another three gallons tonight. One store only had quarts and I tried to get them to honor the gallon price for four quarts, the Lady wouldn't listen to me. They had dozens of quarts, maybe I'll try back to see if they're not marked at $1/quart.

I saw this cross-posted on slickdeals.net today and ended up buying 36 gallon jugs (store1 had 12, store2 had 24). I didn't even need to have walmart pricematch since I got plenty at autozone.

Both stores even offered to order more from their warehouse. I had them hold off, since now I'm set for the next 180k miles each on my 2 TDIs.

Just snagged the last 9 quarts @ the Yucca Valley store for a buck a pop....

This is insane...reminds me when I went home for Thanksgiving from Austin and two independent gas stations were having a gas war b4 the 183 highway...must've been '69 or '70 IIRC. Crows Flite and Sinclair.... I filled up a 21 gallon Chebby 327 SS for like $2.50 total; for premium no less. Those were the days!!! :D

I picked up 6 gallons at my local Autozone, because I was thinking I could use it for my wife's current 2000 TDI and then use it in the 2014 1.8TSI Jetta we're planning on buying to replace her car. But it looks like TDT is not 502 00 approved so I guess I'll either return some of it or else include the oil when we sell the car.

SO... this is why I don't go to AutoZone. Went in, didn't have it, shelf was empty, said they could get it from the hub no problem. Checked on the computer, hub had 6 gals., called, talked to someone, no problem, will be on truck and here this afternoon, paid in advance for 4 gals.

Come back in to pick it up next morning, nobody knows nuttin. Salesperson I dealt with is off today. No oil, no joy. Now I'm dealing with the mgr. and he's pointing the finger at me like, "why would you pay for something we don't have?" Valid question I suppose. The reason is because if I've paid for it, then they have committed to a "contract" of sorts and are obligated to honor it, or at least you would think. After much grumbling, computer poking, looking behind things, checking shelf (had to show them where it was stocked), they come to the conclusion that the salesperson had screwed up somehow and should have never taken my money. Having been a parts mgr. for a truck parts outfit for many years, I attempted to make the argument that taking money first on the premise that the product would be available after a daily parts warehouse run was not uncommon. In fact, it was procedure. What if the customer never showed back up? You've extended company time, money and resources without a tangible commitment from the customer. Getting nowhere here...

Then it proceeds into 'mines bigger than yours' with the manager claiming 35 years in retail and maintaining it was somehow my fault for paying first and that this transaction should have never occurred. So, no more M1 T&D anywhere in the area, not going to continue stocking (even though the shelf tag didn't indicate so), one computer shows 0 in stock, the other -4, my 4 gals., no record of what came down on the truck and I'm sitting there fuming.

All I can say is I never use AutoZone and this is a perfect example of why. They are an a$$clown organization with gaping holes in their procedures and sales system. No record of what was on the truck? Really... I should have had 4 gals. of oil sitting there with a bow and my name on it. Instead, I have nothing but a bunch of CYA BS. Not happy...

So rant over, carry on and Merry Christmas all...

I've bought parts from autozone that they don't stock but get the next day.. I don't see how this would be any different. Did you have a receipt for the purchase?

Yes, absolutely... receipt in hand. This is a local problem no doubt. I'm sure there are other AZ's with better managers and maybe even policies regarding their ordering/delivery practices.

So in the end he did commit to resolving the situation. If he's unable to deliver the Mobil 1, he did agree to price match the Rotella T6 5w-40. I'll know tomorrow if it's one or the other. I've never used Rotella before, always Delvac 1 for me. Sorry and didn't mean to bomb this thread, just frustrating... carry on.

Got a call this morning, said my oil was in... great. Get there and it's Delvac 1300 15w-40. 3 trips and counting.
A$$clowns...

Went to two stores tonight. The first store had four cases and the second had two. The second store locked the doors as we walked out at 7pm, so I guess that means we were the last ones to get the deal! 18 gallons all in.

So far I have been able to avoid buying any TDT :D [I have enough different types of oil stashed]
Sorry, saw your post with the picture of all of that TDT. Didn't notice that it was a quote from car54's earlier post.
