$12.99 a gallon, I bought two. I was going to buy some Shell T6 for $30 but I saw this at the last second.
This is an insane discount, I don't think it is advertised so if you pass by one, stop in and check. The sign said all Mobile 1 1gal bottles were 12.99, then it said in small print that TDT is included also. Discount will show up at register when paying.

Plus this coupon:

Is this safe for MKIV ALH's? If so I'll go buy three or 4 today.

Thanks!
After a little research it sounds like, although this oil doesn't meet the VW 505.1 specifications, it is widely regarded as one of the best oils by fellow forum members.

I plan on snagging 4-5 gallons after work, thanks for the heads up!

The PDF of the current flyer lists the same 12.99 per gal, and in fine print lists the Mobil 1 TDT as well, however when I called Watertown NY, they were out of stock on M1 TDT (5W40) for the last month and the label is now gone.:(

It was suggested that the label might be gone until a newer product is stockable.

Remember, the 20% off coupon is only after the member rewards card is presented.

Stock is a bit sketchy, so depending on the season, and now is the season for the fall/winter specials.

PS. It looks better on regional management if the inventories that are being carried into the new year get depeleted, so there might be in-store specials, that are not advertised also.

But USD$12.99 per Gal of Motor oil is a great price (If you can find it):)

Regular price shows Unavailable for Ship to Store,so perhaps NY is phasing this oil out.

Did check 0W40 in Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck, is $8.99 a quart. never thought to ask if they would sell the 4 quarts at the 1 gallon price if they were out of stock of the other. Doh!
[End Edit:]

The 20% off coupon isn't for the oil - it is for anything else you might be interested in buying.

The oil comes up at $12.99 in the computer when they scan it. I suppose you could take another 20% off of that, if you REALLY wanted to be cheap... But isn't about 70% off enough? :)

They wouldn't let me use the 20% off coupon since the oil was already on sale (dramatically I might add). So I just bought all they had in stock :D

I've been ordering Total Energy for the last year and using that...I honestly had no idea I could buy oil that would work locally so after doing some research on this stuff I'm extremely pleased to hear that it does so well AND can be bought locally. Now if I could just source a filter locally...does VW sell the MANN oil filters that I've been ordering from IDParts?

How long you can keep this oil in the shelf unopened and still be good for a TDI (pre-CR)?

Synthetic oil has an indefinite shelf life. I've heard it recommended to give the container a shake in case any of the additives have settled.

Edit: Just checked Mobil's website and they give Mobil 1 a five year shelf-life.

Is this an "in store" deal? Just checked my local AutoZone sale flyer and there's no mention of Mobil 1.

Found it!

I was out running some errands and I drove by my local AutoZone, but all that they had were quarts at $8.99. The clerk checked stock at another nearby store and they had it. Got four gallons and another four will be there later this afternoon! Thanks for the heads-up, Kingcodez.

I bought 5 one gallon and had Autozone order in a case which is another 4 1 gallon. When the price rang up the clerk got his manager over to check the price. The guy behind me heard the price and ordered 6 cases. Great deal....TY

The item of note is on the back page of the circular, which is situated at the top left in that PDF.

My local Autozone only had a single quart in stock. So I went to Walmart to see if they would pricematch... no dice.
The manager at Walmart saw that the ad was for "Mobil Delvac, Mobil 1 Truck Diesel, or Valvoline Premium Blue".
She was hung up on the wording difference ("Truck Diesel" in the ad vs "Turbo Diesel Truck" on the bottle). I told her there's no such thing as "Mobil 1 Truck Diesel", but she looked at their price for Delvac ($12.47) and their price for Mobil 1 TDT ($26+) and said it's obviously a different item.

Guess I will have to go back to my Autozone and try to get them to order some.

This looks like the online version of the deal, which seems to support the idea that TDT is not supposed to be included. Which makes it even more important to get out there and try to get some before they catch on to their mistake.

So it IS in my local flyer. I was looking for a picture of Mobil 1 TDT and didn't read the fine print next to the Delvac and Valvoline jugs.

My local autozone rung it up and it was still 29.99. I guess ill check another store

I just got back with 3 Gal.
I went up to counter, asked him to scan it to double check price. It scanned as 29.99, and he said 29.99 but fortunately I could see the screen and at the BOTTOM of the screen where it showed the subtotal it read as $12.99.

The clerk then asked me how much was left on the shelf, because he wanted to get some... I said "Dude it's empty, I got 3 gal because that's all you had. If there were 10 jugs back there I would have come up with a shopping cart."

According to the circular and the sign that was on the shelf the price is good until Dec 24th. But I wouldn't be too shocked if they amended that ad.
Walmart wouldn't price match when I went there earlier w/ just the circular. But I plan to take the circular and my receipt back there and clean them out too.

Thanks to the OP for this info, I'll check this out this afternoon at my local Zone.
But in reference to this post; I don't want to rain on anyones parade, but the flier that is linked here refers to Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15W-40:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...al/_/N-26qqZ1z13yf3?itemIdentifier=66539_0_0_
and unless it covers ALL Mobile TDT oils, I'd recommend shopping with caution, because Mobil TDT 5W-40 is what I have used for years, and what the years of discussion on this forum have recommended for the 96 - 03 TDI's:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...gf5c?itemIdentifier=832128&_requestid=1453017
Which, from the local Peppy Boys :)):D) store in gallons looks like this:
http://www.pepboys.com/product/deta...d/diesel_engine_oil_exhaust_fluid/?quantity=1
I do hope I'm wrong, and that the local Zone will sell me (and you) the Mobil TDT 5W-40 for 12 bucks and change.
I'm also concerned that people might just be buying the wrong engine oil for their early TDI's!
Please let everyone know what the Zone is actually selling you guys, and please correct me if I'm wrong.

I just bought 4 gallons from my local autozone and there was plenty left on the shelf. The jugs initially scan at 29.99 but when the clerk totaled the purchase it came out at 12.99. You just need to go to the total screen and it would have been there for you too.
