MOBIL 1 on sale!

Hello fellow Passat TDI'ers!

I found out that NAPA has Mobil 1 on sale this month for $5.99 / quart. I ordered a case of the 5w40 ESP M (6 bottles)... out the door was under $36. I am ordering another case + a Wix oil filter (yeah, I've used one already- ZERO issues) for next weekend.

Thought I'd pass this info along. Seems that NAPA has Mobil 1 on sale every business quarter (4 months). ENJOY!

thanks for the heads up I looked and our napa doesn't stock the new VW 507 rated oil

Advance has Mobil 1 in the 5 quart bottle, plus a M1 filter, for $32.95 until Oct 2. If you need a filter, this is a better deal than NAPA.

Short Answer...........No. The Mobil 1 products that AA sells are not 507.00 compliant.

NAPA does NOT stock the Mobil 1 that is VW 507 compliant (5w30). I choose to use the 5w40 oil due to its availability and near likeness to the Mobil 1 5w30 that is VW 507 compliant. My logic as for why may not agree with many here on the forum, so I'll leave my opinions personal.

The local NAPA store here does carry a LubriMoly VW507 oil.

Awesome thanks for the heads up. I don't use it on my Jetta, but trucks I do and it's $$$ to change my oil usually.

Checked the website, the M1 5w-40 Turbo Diesel Truck is $8.99 a quart, it is not on sale.

NAPA stores are local businesses. They all have different deals, prices and products. Check yourself at napaonline.com , try to search a part for pricing at a couple of different stores and you will see that there is usually a buck or two difference. I learned the hard way the difference was more than a couple of bucks!!!

M1 ESP FM 5W40 is the best oil for CR TDIs.

And many here prefer a 5/40 vs 5/30.
