I'm probably going to do the same thing with wife's Beetle early this summer. Buy new intake, install, disable EGR/CCV, then clean old intake at leisure.
Tight garage space & schedule make this my preferred plan. If I had ample, space, time, etc., I'd probably do it the other way . . .
I'm specifically not a VW/TDI guru, just a DIY kind of guy, willing to have spare parts . . .
Maybe we can get a round robin going in the TC/MN/region with a spare intake . . .

Minnesota Mike said:Anybody know where I can get an intake manifold? I've got an '02 Jetta. I think mine must be pretty clogged up. Do you think it would just be easier if I got another one and switched them out, then cleaned out the original one for next changing? Any comments welcome!!
