I am looking to upgrade my 2003 golf with heated seats.

I will be checking out some local junkyards.

What year range, brand and models will have heated seats that will fit into an 2003 vw golf without (difficult) modifications?

Looking for black in either leather or cloth.

Thanks!

Airbag and seat belt are different 99.5-2000 vs 2001-2006. To keep headaches to a minimum, keep this in mind.

For a straight bolt in, just mkiv Golf/Jetta/New Beetle and I think Audi TT fronts.

For your 2-door golf, look for new beetle, 2-door golf or GTI seats. Jetta seats will fit, but you will lose the easy rear access since all Jettas have 4 doors and don't have that mechanism. Good luck.

When I did mine - I ordered complete harness from kufatec. It'd be a pain to completely remove a stock harness (many I inquired about were cut out). The seats and switches are the important parts.

Oh - I bought my seats from right near you in Chester from someone on vwvortex.

Apparently the earlier years are supposed to have a different harness and connectors, but I don't think that holds true... I picked up a set of leathers from a 2000 golf tdi which happened to have seats from a different mk4 VW. The harnesses and connectors are identical on the 2000 golf and my 2003 golf

Make sure its a 2 door.

I went to the junk yard garbed the connectors at bottom of seats and the connectors that control the seats. Wire them up, not hard at all.

IIRC I got both seats and connectors from a mk4 ( no idea the year)

How long ago was that? I don't think Kufatec has had the harnesses for years. We were making them for a while but no longer.

3 years ago. I was on their site a couple months ago and saw them still: http://www.kufatec.com/shop/en/volkswagen/golf/golf-4-1j/seat-heating-harness-vw-golf-4

Can't beat the price... People were asking $100 for a used harness with the fuse box connectors cut off. Nobody wanted to take the time to de-pin them correctly. This was a breeze to install.

I wasn't able to find anyone else at the time that carried it.

This isn't 100% as of yet, but...
I got myself MKIV .:R32 seats(no, not for sale), so once those go in my wagon, the black leather heated seats from that may be for sale.
You're about 2 hours away from me. Just throwing the idea out there.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Votblindub, Yes I'd be interested, I am not in a big hurry to do this, so just let me know.

Keep an eye on the page I have in my sig. Once you see the R seats go in the wagon, hit me up.
