I forgot to mention that the thin aluminum trim around the shifter boot came up and cut my hand when I was pulling something out of my little compartment below the a/c controls. (Not sure the mileage, but I think it was around 60k) I contacted VW Customer Care and they approved to pay for my replacement trim. Also I had the hand brake button fly off (plastic clip holding it in broke) around 75k miles. I have yet to get that fixed. (Which is a pain to set now and I don’t really feel like paying that much for the entire assembly for something that is a common problem) heh

I had a similar issue but I repainted it with plastidip, I wonder if they would still replace it. Might be worth a call.

They told me that they were aware of this issue, but there hadn't been a recall for it. I'm sure if you still have a warranty they would most likely work with you. Although, I hadn't done anything to mine except peel off the part that cut me... Also since it did cut me, I think they took my claim a bit more seriously than they would in your case. Who knows.. Can't hurt to try.

185564 miles as of today.
Picked it up at the dealer 10/8/2014
No major issues. Warranty items, AdBlue sensor, AdBlue leak at engine
LED DRL on left is out, cause unknown, too expensive ($1300) to replace.
Timing belt, etc at scheduled 120K, rest is just standard maintenance.
Will drive it until it drops

I just bought a Black 2015 GSW SEL with 128K about 3 weeks ago in Tennessee. Right now the car has an occasional CEL and left DRL is out. Dealer is sending me a driver for the DRL as this happened before I picked it up.

The DSG transmission can be a bit jerky at times when going low speeds and shifting through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. Hopefully whatever powertrain issues this car has will poke their ugly heads out before 165K as this car came with an extended warranty. Other than that the only other issues I have are minor, mainly the front door speakers buzzing/rattling and the driver's side headlight bulb being loose and out of focus.

Also, interestingly, the previous owner had a TDIClub Forum license plate frame installed. I wonder if they're still around...

I'm at 113,800 as of today. Zero issues. Just maintenance and tires. Still on original pads on both axles. New VW battery put in last year for preventative reasons but was ok.

We have three 2015 golfs an S, SE & SEL. The SE we bought new & it has 140K on it... other two are 60K & 70K. on the SE Normal maintenance timing belt job at 120K... pump was not in the best of shape will not wait until 120k on the next cars... pads, rotors, struts, shocks. Only repeated issue with all three is the AdBlue system had various parts of it changed on all the cars some more than once all under warranty. Love these cars will drive them as long as they run.

I'm at 119k miles. Got the Golf with 35k as a CPO. At 50k the water pump gave out under warranty. Just had the timing belt and water pump service done at 118k. Driver side wheel bearing started humming loudly and was replaced. Passenger side wheel bearing replaced as preventive maintenance. Wheel bearings were replaced at the same time as the TB and WP service.

Had my "U" DRL go out as well. The ballast was the issue. I'll have to dig around and find the one I ordered. Dealer said the same thing about replacing the assembly (think I was quoted 1k?) Bought the ballast on eBay for 50 dollars. No problems since then.

Edit: 4G0907697G was the number I used to search it on ebay

157k on my '15. Had the DRL issue as above, and the master window switch on the drivers door broke, replaced that with a used one for ~8 dollars. Otherwise routine maintenance.

118,000 miles on my golf 6 speed. Owned since 72k. Clutch is iffy on rare occasions. I've had a Kerma tune on it since 84k putting 325ft/lbs to the wheels so not surprising. Other than that, nothing notable.

115k miles on my Golf 6 speed. Its got 32k miles when I bought it a little over 2 years ago. No major problems so far. Injectors, along with a torn lower engine cover, were replaced August last year when it ingested water during a flash flood.

Ours recently passed the 165k mark. Since the last post, I replaced the brake pads which had over 150k and were still usable.

For the sake of keeping this thread going, I will hold on updating the list found earlier in the post. I will make a point to update the thread when I find the time.

Have 110,000+ miles in my 2015 Golf TDI. Had to replace a leaking water pump at 103,000 miles and a Tb job at the same time.

95,300 miles on our GSW and nothing but regular maintenance so far. I can make the clutch slip around 2K rpm's between 4-6 but have a Kerma tune and some small mods. Will look at upgrading with some bigger maintenance closer to 100K miles.

I have been lurking since I purchased my Golf in 2019... finally joined.

94k miles on mine. S trim, 6 speed manual.

Issues experience during the 20k miles I have owned it:
  • DEF line was leaking at the injector had to be replaced last year ~89,000 miles. $0, covered by emissions warranty.
  • Wiring connection to the turbo cooler thingy... have to dig out the receipt... earlier this year. Cost me around $300, dealer would not cover it under warranty even though I have a CEL. Did not feel like fighting at the time.
  • HVAC recirculating motor started clicking this past winter. Have not changed it yet as it's been cold, costs almost $200, and it doesn't impact driving.
Only mod to date is the shift mechanism from the Audi S3. Feels like it should've from the factory, definitely not 'short'.
