Hey everybody, after a long evening doing both my front shocks and lower ball joints, the last thing I had to tighten up before finishing the car was the swaybar link to the lower control arm.

I noticed that it went in almost all the way but then it would just spin. It felt wrong so I removed it and noticed that the threads halfway down the bolt are gone.

Is it possible that my threads in the lower control arm are gone? It's not the OEM control arm, it is the Ultra-8 aftermarket brand.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Does anybody know what the thread type is so that maybe I can try to re-tap it?

Thank you!

Had the threads strip on my LCA, and if remember right we drilled and tapped the hole for a 3/8-16" bolt. I might have the wrong size I can't remember if the original bolt was an M8 or M10. Either way that was 8 months ago and never had any issues to this day.

If the threads are stripped off the bolt itself I'd just try a new one personally and don't over tighten it.

I'm going to the dealer and will pickup a new bolt.

Hopefully it will go in, grrr just my luck!

If I have to re-tap the threads, does anybody know what kind of tap I would need to do this?
