Heat-shrink butt connector and a little butane torch often used for heating....things. ;)
Use those, skip the tape.

Pink ones cover a LOT of the wires on our cars; if you wanna get really particular on narrower gauge wire, there are white ones that snug up to those very nicely.
Link to Amazon listing (be aware that AliX sells similar - and they've worked fine for me.)

You might use the blue ones in that case a few times; rarely have I had need for those big honkin' yellow ones.

Oh right on- that’s the butt connector I used actually - but I didn’t know I should hit it with heat.
I will peel back the tape and heat shrink over the pink connector.
but yeah it fit good and snug that size.
thanks @Nuje

a lot of Mk4 Jettas with lightbars, and both setups can work well depending on the look and the fitment you're after. The 22-inch curved lightbar is a popular choice because it fits nicely into the lower grille area without needing too much modification. It follows the curve of the grille, giving it a more integrated, factory-look appearance. On the other hand, a straight lightbar can work if you want a more aggressive, wide beam, but it might stick out a bit more and could require additional brackets or trimming for a clean fit. Both setups should improve your visibility significantly—especially in deer-prone areas. I'd recommend checking the exact dimensions and mounting options to see which one suits your style and needs best!

If you want to over engineer your connectors, I would like to introduce you to solder-loaded, adhesive-lined, heat shrink butt splices:

https://www.mcmaster.com/electrical-connectors/solder-loaded-heat-shrink-crimp-on-butt-splices/

Overkill for most applications, but fun nevertheless
Amazon/AliX have those for an order of magnitude less $ as well (probably not as good, of course). I've used them a couple times, but prefer the security (peace of mind?) that comes from the crimp of the metal sleeve clamping onto the copper, as opposed to just ("just":)) the adhesive properties of the solder and glue.

According to a AI detector we likely have a bot lol. This post came back 70% likely and his other post was 100% likely
If it sounds like an eighth-grader learning how to write an essay and following all the "rules"....yep - probably Ai.
(Or at the very least, a translation engine powered by Ai)

They also crimp, I think. Either way, in use cases where there will not be much movement of the wiring, but where there will be exposure to the elements, the important things is for the heat shrink portion to be glue lined. Also, the McMaster-Carr app is insanely good, so I'm happy to throw them a few extra bucks from time to time haha
