Im sure my ecu had water damage so i decided to swap it. So my question is my car is a 2001 vw jetta tdi automatic, and the donor car is a 2000 golf tdi auto. I think the model isnt an issue as much as the year. If i remember right the 01 has a immo3 and 00 has immo2 or " no immo " So the catch is kinda in the SKC, If my ecu requires SKC and the 00 golf ecu does not, can i just swap them out or will it no work at all and if it will what programing will be needed? Just the 3 Minuit ignition adaption? Will i have issues, I am about to pop the hood and start getting to the ecu.

You want the same part numbered ecu, I do not believe it will work.

Part number is the same, i just finished swapping the ecus, AND it didnt work... :( Ahh to bad, i pull up my vagcom and the faulty codes say that the ECU is unauthorized or unrecognized... BUT whats weired is my cluster is still going nuts. Maybe its not my ecu after all. Im down to 2 options, 1 BAD F***** cluster or the power supply to the ecu is inefficient or bad.. I checked all my fusees and they seem to be fine.
By the way the IMMO CAR is flashing so swapping a immo 2 into a 3 is not possible.

hey i'm going to swap my ecm to see if that will correct my p0252 issue... what will i need to do? also will i need to get a ross tech cable
You could buy VCDS from Ross Tech and follow their ECU swap instructions, or buy a KKL cable (~$20) and use @gmenounos free software to delete the immobilizer:

Immobilizer delete instructions here:

However, I doubt it will solve your issue. Bad ECUs usually throw several sensor related codes.

thanks for that info but i'm curious you would do if it was your car? the engine timing is dead on the fuses are all good i've run a few electrical tests i've changed the fuel filter on my fass pump the IQ is set there's no fuel restriction

i've got another pump i know that doesn't set off the cel but i changed the bottom seal on the head and now it won't start but i've contacted DFIS and bryan said they could fix it no problem
