MK4 central console replace (not a cupholder question)

Hello guys! Does anyone know if a central console from Beetle 2006-2009 fits in a golf/jetta ? or if there are any conversions for that?
I'm really annoyed by central console wich i found so unconfortable...even to put your cell somewhere. Or if you have a gps or charger plugged in cigaret lighter then there you cant put anything else. And three cupholders wich are a bit nonsense to me
I remember my old MK2 where was a huge place in face of shifter where you cand keep anything when needed.

So my things are if can take a console from beetle wich have an better central console in my opinion and with a lighter socket free to acces at any time....or maybe from an mk3 but i'm not sure if it will fit without modifs

I would just relocate the 12v charging point- or even create two, at each side of the shifter surround, so that you can have power on both driver and pax side with clean wire routing.
