MK4 auto to manual swap

Hi guy's,
I just bought a one owner 03 jetta tdi wagon in excellent condition with 150k on it
The only bad, it is a automatic... I'm a Porsche technician at a dealer, there is also a VW dealer (same owner) on the lot. They have a 2000 golf tdi with 250k, in pretty bad shape and overheating problems and MANUAL transmission.
I can buy this car for 1.2k.
I'm thinking of swapping transmissions between both vehicles, fix the overheating issue, sell the golf and have a 5speed manual in my wagon...
Any thoughts or advice? How difficult is the electrical part of this conversion?

I am looking for a similar scenario to convert my auto wagon.
You want to check the trans condition before committing though.

It would be fairly difficult to wire in the auto where a manual goes.

I wonder if the car has a plastic impeller water pump that broke off causing the overheating issue?

For that price you would probably be best off to buy it, perform the swap and then sell the other parts off the car or sell the engine and body to someone that needed them for parts.

Hello I have done one and it just takes some time. I used this forum link here to guild me. Just sell off the parts latter.

Just bought the golf today, it's not over heating, just looses coolant some were I'm told...ck it out soon. Maybe I get lucky and it is only the EGR cooler.
