There appear to be four MK IV wagon tail light versions:
All red, standard in North America
"Ocean" style, using the Euro spec blinker location, with a clear lens. ECS part number ES2141118
UK spec , same as euro, but with amber turn signal plastic ECS part number ES2141117
something-else-spec, which is like the "ocean" style, but has red reflecty bars over the turn signal part, so they sorta look red, but are clear to the bulb. it kinda looks like the Golf signals. There's a yellow-green filter behind the clear plastic outer lens to color the light. (at least based on the ones my friend has.)
So... here are my questions:
Does the "ocean" style have a colored filter, or do you have to use an amber bulb?
Do the "amber" ones sold at ECS actually have pure amber plastic, or are there red reflecty bars over the amber? The ECS pictures aren't very good.
What're the something-else-spec ones? What're they called?
