I have a 2013 TDI Highline with the stock 17" Continental Tires and was wondering what type of mileage you folks are typically getting from them.

They did not seem to have a very deep tread even when new, but I am very impressed with the traction and handling so far (for stock tires).

I will be putting approximately 15,000 to 20,000 km per summer on these tires as I swap them out for snows each winter. These tires are supposed to have a high wear rating, but after just one season with even, uniform wear, it doesn't look like I'm going to get more than 50,000 to 55,000 kilometers out of them :(

I only got about 20K miles on my stock conti pros. Not impressed at all.

I still have my stock continentals for one more summer season and I've been using them since November 2010. I've got about 5 months left in them.

Been on the stock Conti's since December 2012. I probably have another 20k on them easy before replacement. Same size as you are running.

I've got 32k on mine, rotate every 5k and I'll be lucky to get another 10k.

So far I've got about 500 miles on my conti pro contacts and would be happy if they wore out tomorrow.

That being said, I've never been happy with an OEM tire. But I love the continental extreme contact dws tires.

23K and looking

I spotted a bulge on the front passenger side tire this past weekend. Only 23K miles on them, so I am a little disappointed. The tread doesn't look too bad on the other three, but I've never had good luck only buying 2 tires to save a few bucks now - so I'll bite the bullet and replace all 4.

The Michelin Primacy seem to be a popular choice on these forums, so I am really leaning that way to replace them. Trying to see if I can find a good price though. Wonder if the local dealership will match the prices from the internet stores?

Anyway - the Contis did handle pretty well...while they lasted anyway. :D

Good luck!

I changed out my Continental ProContacts at 68K (4 years) and they still had another 5-10K left. Most of those miles were straight highway miles. They were noisy.

We have 28,000 miles on our Contis and when we took our car into the dealership for the 30,000 mile service, they said the tires wouldn't pass inspection. I don't know if they were fishing for a tire sale or what but 28,000 for new tires is astounding. Do these tires have any sort of mileage warranty on them?

According to Continental's Web Site, the ContiProContact OEM tires are supposed to have a 80,000 mile Limited Warranty (or 72 months).

However, based on the posts here, it doesn't look like I can expect to get even half of that!

2002 TDI (ALH) with 513,000 km. First Owner and very happy... No Problems, never left us stranded on the Highway. Average useage is about between under 4 ltr. and 5 ltr. Normal longdistance travel: 4.1/100
The Conti's that I used got pretty good miles. The Conti Tires in Germany never got good miles, because of the Highspeed, that I hammered down the Autobahn, but still around 40,000 - 50,000 kilometers. My VW`s here in Canada always came with Michelin`s.

@ 16,000 miles, my Contis still look brand new. I'd estimate that I've got 70% tread left. :)
