MAP upgrade?

Hi folks

Now I have my 1z Hybrid turbo working correctly and the car is running great after sorting my dodgy N75 valve and I'm very happy with its performance.

Does anybody know if my Bleached Bora Hybrid will top out my 2.5bar MAP sensor in the ECU? I was thinking about swapping the sensor for a MK4 sensor to milk that turbo for every last drop of air. Anyone know how far I can push this hybrid, 1.5, 1.6 bar?

I havent a boost gauge setup yet which I know is pretty vital.

1.5 bars is the max you can push on that turbo...so 2.5 bar map sensor is fine

It will allow you to be able to push out half a bar more pressure with out going into limp mode but your turbo will grenade in the very near future..........if you wanted to boost to say 20psi which some have done in the good old days with out too many problems you can pipe in a bleed valve about 4" away from you ecu/map with the same out come!!

Does the distance really matter? Mines about half way between manifold and ecu.

Yes as it will react better at 4' away from the ecu/map sensor than where you have it.........where you have your bleed is usually where one would fit a dawes divice / mechanical boost controller.

I moved it to 4inches away this morning and boy did I notice a difference!!
