I just got the Flashzilla from Malone Tuning to make my 2.0 2005 B5 Passat Wagon run a little better!!! After installing this upgrade sometime this week, wood anyone know of any other minor upgrade available that could better help in this process.

Let us know how the tuning mod affects your performance and MPG. I have a couple of 2005s but am hesitant to add chips to a slushbox(automatic) car.

I recently installed a Malone stage 1.5 tune in my Passat wagon and I also had Mark do the Dynamic idle and EGR upgrade. My highway mpg's before the tune were mid 30's, after the tune I get high 30's and this is with winter blend. Last week I saw 39 mpg on my drive home and that was driving 70-75mph. I really want to crack 40 mpg with this thing! My in town mileage is up too, I would say it is up 2-3 mpg for both.

Last night I broke the 40mpg barrier, I got 41.7 one my drive home from work.

Harleyrider, I was going back and forth on chipping mine because of the trans too. But I figured that I drive this car very easy and most of the time it is just cruising down the highway. I did the tune mostly for mpg and the added power when I do need it.

I went for Stage 1.5 and love it. I really need to get the 6 speed in there before I abuse this tranny too much. No idea on mileage yet, I can't keep my foot out of it.

Was your car not warming to the righ temp fast enough? I have changed my thermostat and still my car does not warm in a timely manner (15 to 20 minutes max). I might have to also change the CTS. Bummer ...

I have stage one tune via Malone, it's just the bees knees, makes it much easier to use the available power with a manual transmission.

Can this tune be fitted to work on manual transmissions (five and six speed)?

At first I contacted a dealer in Milwaukee as he was the nearest dealer to me, but he never returned any of my emails or phone calls. Kind of crazy as I had 4 tunes that needed to be done (2 for me and 2 for a friend). So I email Mark directly and another one of his dealers contacted my right away. I can't remember is name but he was located in ATL. I was able to email Mark directly to tell him what we were looking for. It was easy with the Passat as they tune it with the OBD port. For my Jetta the ECU was sent to ATL and the turn around was less than a week.
