Im not certain about what you are talking about with this shutter amstel? If I floor it the RPM's go up about 200 or so without a speed increase to indicate that. Is this what you are referring to as a shutter or is that my clutch slipping like I fear it is? Got mud does yours do something similar to what I am describing or am I way off base of what you are talking about?
It's a shudder that's felt as peak torque is reached at low RPMs. Some DMFs can handle the added torque, others cannot.

As for your situation, if you accelerate and RPM increases but speed does not and you're driving a manual, then your clutch is slipping and will need replacement soon.

P.S. 200 or 2000 RPM? 200 RPM is nothing and can hardly be felt unless you're feathering the gas. 2,000 RPM on the other hand? Yeah, clutch is definitely on its way south.

oh yeah my bad I definitely meant 2-3k RPM's! I think I am gonna buy the flashzilla malone gear so I can throw the stock tune back on it till I have 1500 or dollars lying around to do the clutch and 5th gear at the same time.

Duel Mass Flywheel. Gets its name because the flywheel has 2 parts that are separated with some form of damper in the middle, normally some type of spring. Also the inner mass is normally a different type of metal or makeup then the outer toothed part of the flywheel.
This is shortened to DMF a lot on this forum.

Het gotmud, sorry I didn't get back to you till today. I got underway and the internet is terrible underway. So unfortunately thursday night we had cloud cover so it was actually a lot warmer then other mornings so no shuddering for me. Although I did plug in the car and I don't think the frost heater is working. I don't know I need to look at it further.

All good.
Do you have a erratic idle on cold start up for like 20seconds?
This winter fuel change over sucks!!! I have dropped 5mph

I wouldnt say that the idle is sperratic, but my turbo actuator definitely did not know what to do yesterday morning. I went out to start the car and headed back inside and the turbo was going up and down, up and down with no change in RPM, not sure what is going on there.

Its possible some of the crazy startup shudder issues could be the egr valve or its lack of control due to lack of vacuum when you first start it cold. For a quick check just unplug the vacuum hose from the top of the egr valve and block it off with a golf tee or something similar. Start the car stone cold and if your issue goes away then you have a direction to pursue.

On the clutch slippage issues I noticed when you wot at freeway speed I kept noticing my tach going the wrong way. What would happen is my rpms would jump 200-300 instantly then pull back down as the clutch clamped down. I just happend to see it moving the wrong way while the throttle was pinned open. Took me a bit to figure it out.... new clutch and the tach does not mis-behave any more :)
