Thanks for listing those threads. It seems to be a good upgrade, and it is towards the top of my list. I emailed Andrew to get a price for the swap.

I'm thinking stage 5 would involve a Holset turbo and nitrous. Why would you want to go stage 3, when your sig says you're already stage 4?

I'd say you're stage 5 with the nitrous and methanol.

I for one would love to see what a gtb2260vk could do in person. You should come on out to one of the meets we have here in a couple months ;)

I would love to go to a TDI meet.
there doesn't seem to be a lot of meets for our type. hahah

yeah its a nice setup. I have had it on the car since September 2013 . It was quite a bit of custom work to get it all on the car.

Really anything beyond a stage "X" kit, should just be dubbed a "custom" tune. I understand the stage 3, seeing as there is a kit and I understand stage 4, as there will be a kit for that soon. Stages are kinda ambiguous anyway. A stage 5 on an ALH is more or less equivalent to a stage 2 on a CR140

I haven't decided what the best way to do that would be. I like the idea of using the Polar FIS as far as a clean look. I am not sure it would work yet with the changes you make for the egt sensors. I wanted to make sure before I pulled the trigger on it. If it does work, I would go that route. If not, than I will just go with the old school analog gauge.
I only picked mine up for $125 and installed it myself (didn't realize it was be the easiest 15 minute install ever). Definitely very clean and a lot of cool features, but not as many parameters to display as I saw on some of the demo videos (perhaps because of my particular ECU).

What options would I have for the analog gauge and probe? Several suggested different gauges, but I have no clue what all I need to do, and if that's something I could do myself, or best left for my tuner to do.

No, it looks like cast iron or maybe mild steel. Cast iron is tricky to weld without creating small stress cracks. Either you heat the whole piece up and weld quickly, or you just nibble away at it so as not to put too much heat into one spot at a time.

Damn that's a bummer it cracked. I wonder if there is a way you could modify the stock manifold to accommodate the 2260?

Probably if you could it would have been done already. My thoughts are though maybe the stock manifold could have the I.D widened.
