Looking to get a Wavetrac LSD for my ALH. My goal is 200WHP and whatever torque that brings me, and currently I have 165-175 and a little over 300 with my current GT1752. My plan to is get bigger injectors and go with a GTD1752VRK, but seeing what some are saying it might not be a good idea to be launching the car with an LSD and the power I'll be making.

Looking for advice.

Thanks.

I've got a Peloquin, one of the best mods I've ever done. Changes the way the car corners, I'm into handling, not dragging.
It is a common mod for those who frequent the dragstrips though. You won't regret it, and I'm sure it will handle the power.

I have a Quaife helical on my 3.6 Corrado (not a TDI, but still 245whp) and the LSD was the best thing I did performance wise. I could not keep one tire from spinning with the open diff, but now it's planted with both wheels keeping traction on launches. Well worth the money and will absolutely hold up to the power

200hp is basically nothing in the 1.8t and vr6 world
they got the same car and trans, in fact they're kinda the reason we've got the limited slip diffs...

A while back I had a Golf with a 6 speed. I installed a Peloquin diff along with a few other mods. It absolutely transformed the car. I've since sold the Golf and now have a TDI converted Tiguan. The LSD is the one thing I really miss. So much so I'm considering installing one in the Tiguan. Do it, you will not be disappointed!

cuban,

It's not a common mod, most want MORE power, and spend thousands to get it.
But not much attention is paid to getting that hp to the pavement.
An LSD is a major part of that equation, I'd suggest suspension and brakes
are crucial parts of the package. Anybody can build a car that goes fast in
a straight line, my focus is a road machine. Read the "what is handling"
thread, I want the GT car. Our TDIs aren't really sports cars, but you
can make them into a fast cruiser with great FE.

My $.02

Worth every penny if you enjoy twisty roads :)
The 1752vrk will certainly put tons of torque through the wheels and down low, your axles will be crying haha

How did the LSD effect day to day driven. Manly tight turns parking lots and turns in town

I was a bit concerned about that as well. I've driven a FWD car with a pawl type LSD and believe me, you notice do notice that! The Peloquin really didn't have any effect except when you needed it. I didn't notice any extra effort in slow speed turns. The worm wheel diffs work very well in that regard. I liked it so much I'll probably put a worm wheel diff in the Mini I'm building up.

They are not a diff lock, and for that reason starting from 0mph on ice
will have the possibility of wheel spin, like an open diff. But once moving,
the Peloquin will adjust. No appreciable difference around town etc,
but under power, you can go from understeer to oversteer with throttle in
cornering. Hit it at the apex and the LSD pulls you through the corner.

Takes a bit of driving to appreciate it, but once you start to get it,
you'll never go back. A lot more control at the edge of handling
capability. DON'T lower your car, and I'd stay away from poly
bushings and too stiff shocks, let the suspension do it's job of
keeping the tires on the road, which is why I don't have a rear sway bar.
You'll be amazed how fast you can push the car.

I guess this is the next upgrade to my car. Thank you Rrusse11, Almost1 and Adjat84th for your feedback on LSD.
