A few weeks ago I went into the dealer for one of the free checks and to ask about a "noise" that was coming from the front of my car. It seemed to be coming from one of the fan blades rubbing on something but We (me and the service writer) could not see what it was rubbing on. I decided to drive it a while and see if I could figure it out.
Today looking around again I notice some gray marks on the fan blade outer edge. After looking closer I saw that it has been rubbing on a hose fitting that I have no clue where it goes to or comes from. It seems to be a higher pressure line similar to AC lines but knowing nothing about where stuff goes/comes from on these I cant speculate much.
I will be going to the dealer on Tuesday for the Recall and I wanted some advice on what you guys think I should ask the dealer to do. I think the Line and the Fan should be replaced. Yea they are both working fine now and the line could probably be bent or moved out of the way. What I am worried about is the future. Will the extra strain on that fan motor cause it to fail early and of course that weak spot on the hose fitting could cause leaking in the future.
I guess I would like some advice.
I have a picture of it so everyone can have a look at theirs to make sure it is not rubbing or very close to rubbing.
