I love them too, but they are priced so high I won't be getting one any time soon (if ever :( ).

Yep, the cheapest TDI on the VW site is about $23k :eek:

Hope they get the Polo here soon.

The car I drove had a DSG trans. The engine is quieter than a gas engine when you drive it. The power is smooth through all gears when accelerating. It handles almost as well as a GTI. You can't tell the engine is running at idle.

Did you experience any "hurky-jerky" DSG activity in low gears like many people report? Sounds from your description it was pretty smooth-sailin'.

No different than any other DSG I have driven. DSG's are quite unique, you need to get used to them.
