Let me share a valuble lesson to all. Vnt 15 turbos will only last so long running above 18 psi.

I knew i would lose the turbo at some point, would give me a good reason to upgrade. I did not expect to lose the engine with it though. No one to blame but myself. Ill have it back on the road soon, a little bit wiser though.

Yeah, I wouldn't have thought the engine either.. Ah well, looks like you exposed a weak link of some sort..

Yet when I tell people that 18psi is max for a VNT-15, they still like to argue that their turbo works at 22psi... haha.

What siezed up the engine? Lost oil through the turbo? or threw a rod?

dont know yet have not opened it up. it went quetly and the turbo split in half and dumped the oil so I assume extreem heat and fricktion brought it to a final end.

how long timewise and km's wise have u run at over 18psi? and whats the km's on ur car?

that's what happened to my motor, the bottom end could likely be rebuilt, my head was fine
just the bottom end seized due to lack of oil

I know you have Alligator as your tuner but that is a bit unclear. Who actually tuned your car?

The tune I have been running for the last couple of years has been aligator done by Mark from Quebec. I have mor tunes from Kerma But was waiting for a bigger turbo to run them. Believe it or not the stock turbo has been running that high and hot that long. Supprised the heck out of me. I send Kerma my tuned file and he wouldn’t take my psi higher than 18. Maybe he knows something.

What you planning on doing with the seized engine? Rebuild, if you plan to rebuild and need a hand I'm always willing to help!
You can get a little tiny bit from adjusting the VNT rod, but mainly you need to get a tune.
As in the OP, the stock turbo (VNT15) can only sustain elevated boost levels for so long before imploding.
A boost gauge allows you to keep an eye on things and adjust your right foot to keep boost levels low as well...
