"limp mode" is the search term ye seek.... especially if you find that the power comes back if you pull over and restart the engine.

100's of threads, and in my sig is a link to one of the best step-by-step HOW-TOs to track it down.

2 different engines showing the same symptoms often points to a common cause. Fuel issues/plugged filters would be the most likely.

Yup, unless power comes back when the key is cycled.

Good test for the OP to try the next time.

A full scan with a VW-specific scanner like VCDS would be a great step as well.

I had this issue with my mk4 ALH. Sometimes would throw an overboost code and go into limp mode. I found that the intake manifold was clogged with soot. Was a PITA, but I removed the intake, cleaned it out and the difference in power was quite noticeable.

if you take logs, limp mode is even more obvious. fuel is limited to 25mg and n75 goes right to 92.5% for vanes wide open. take 011-001-003 log with vcds. common problem is bad maf, which can easily be tuned out, or you can buy a new maf which is silly, since they suck.

So to update when you turn car off and restart it the power comes back until you get to a certain mph then it's does it again! So I went to autozone with my 04 yesterday and got a few codes P0135, P0101, P0128, P0299, P0674, p0762, p2564
P2564 says sae turbo boost control position sensor circuit low and the P0299 is boost pressure regulation control range not reached

Classic limp mode behaviour, lots of possible causes, following the HOW-TO step-by-step is the quickest and least expensive way to track 'er down.
