Loose Diagnostic Connector

My scan gauge wasn't working like it normally does, so I giggled the connection and found that the diagnostic connector is loose. The screws are tight, but the connector is loose. Any suggestions on how to repair this.

Mine is like this as well. I guess it comes standard on our cars!

I have noticed the same thing especially during logging over a long trip. I will lose connection and would have to jiggled the connector and reestablish VAGCOM. So far I haven;t seen this while using my UltraGuage - probably less cable / connection stress (No hanging Cable). This summer when it warms up, I plan on taking the lower dash piece down and taking a better look to see if I am missing anything.
