Looking for guru in MTL

Hi guys, just wondering if anybody knows any tdi gurus around MTL that I could take my 2005 Passat tdi gls to.
I developed a leak from the transmission and it's been acting up lately, the garage I go to told me to come back next week to fix the leak ... They filled it up for now but I'm scared that even with the leak fixed I'll still get some slippage as it's still doing it a bit, or maybe i'm paranoid...
Looking for a second opinion.

Not sure how how far you mean by "around Montreal" but there's an excellent VW guru just outside Cornwall. Username "Volkswheels" on here, and his shop is called Volkswheels Mechanical, contact info can be found online.
I take my Jetta to him for any major repairs.

Garage Laramee in ste anne des plaines knows their volks and then aren't very expensive. They work fast, though, so it's worth double checking the minor things to make sure nothing is missing.

If you have troubles with your transmission (the infamous ZF 5HP19), you should go to TransMart on Francis-Hughes, Laval.

He's actually the guy that rebuild and do the warranty work on transmissions for the local VW dealer... but not at dealer rate...

How many KMS on the tranny? Mine failed at around 250K which is the lifespan of an Auto trans. Mine went into limp mode (stuck in 3rd gear) and would not shift anymore when it died. If your tranny is failing expect to spend easily 2 to 3k. Likely more than the value of the car...
