Looking @ a 2011 Jetta tommorrow - what to look for

Looking @ the 1st sticky on this forum, there is no link for the "Used MKVI Jetta Buying Guide (What to Look For)" entry. I'll be looking at a 2011 Jetta tomorrow after my wife surprised me by saying she would be interested in it. I know nothing about these other than what I've gathered from 10 minutes looking at web pages @ forum posts.

Any tips will be most appreciated.

That's a good summary of changes & features, but what I could really use is what to look for that would indicate problems. I'm aware of the HPFP issue, but not of any way to check when looking at a used car whether this problem may be imminent, for example. I do have VCDS and will bring it along.

One thing I'd look for besides a generally clean vehicle is for soot in the tailpipe. That would indicate a damaged dpf.

I skipped the Mk6 cars, but I don't think you can really check ahead for HPFP failure.

What are the signs of HPFP failure?
