Limp mode issue (sorry...another one)
2005 Jetta Wagon
I bought it w/ an AFE CAI (which I would like to replace w/ a PD150 TIP...but besides the point). RC2 tune, VNT17, EJ SMIC. I needed to pass SMOG so I put a stock air box on and on my way to the station, my car went into Limp Mode, CEL on, car drives like crap. Anyhow, I took it back home and reinstalled the CAI (cleared the codes) and the car hasn't been the same since.
Now my car continually goes into limp mode and I can hear a loud swooshing noise on throttle. I've swapped out the MAF w/ a known good unit and I have the same problem. I've also looked at the MAF sensor wiring in the conduit and don't see any breaks in the wire, but it's tough to really tell. Car runs no differently if the MAF is connected or not.
