I recently bought a 3.0 Tdi Q7 and the car was running fine.
Had it service by dealership and no error codes was found. The only additional work besides the 240 000km service was replacing the front brake pad sensors.
The car was fine after the service, but I did notice a change in the gear change pattern and also a little white smoke on cold start.
Then, one morning 20km into the journey the glow plug light started blinking and the car went into limp mode. I progress to the nearest dealership and for the past 14days they still cant find the problem. Car stays in limp mode........what could it be? The already check injectors and rail presure as this showed up on faults.
I will try and get the codes from them tomorrow.

Get the VCDS so you can read the codes and then go to Ross-Tech and do a search. Useful information. I don't work for them but others recommended that I get the kit for my 2014 Touareg TDI and I'm glad I did

They no longer have any decent techs that know TDIs and want all of these vehicles off the road. Without knowing the actual codes it's hard to say what could be wrong. A bad injector will cause low rail pressure then there are the electric and high pressure pumps. Add in several sensors that monitor the fuel pressure.

low/high rail pressure is often intermittent and while the code will be stored and glow plug will flash it may not always put it into limp mode. turbocharger vgt system issue may call it.

best bet like gforce mentioned is get any code reader and scan it to see what its throwing.
