I have a unique setup - a 1986 syncro vanagon with a 2015 2.0 TDI CRUA EA288 installed. I have about 25k miles on the engine now, when it was installed it was a brand new crate engine.

I've been dealing with limp mode when accelerating uphill for a long time now. I've replaced every component in the fuel system except the injectors at this point. Rail, HPFP, lift pump, fuel filters several times, fuel pressure regulator and sensor on the rail, fuel lines. I just went to start the injectors and found one was very stuck. After getting it out, there was a ton of corrosion on the injector and in the injector bore.

I also found that I have a good amount of black soot accumulating on the inside of the coolant bottle. Can anyone link all of this together? Head gasket issue messed up injector?
