Lift pads for Audi TT fit the JETTAS, GOLFS, New Beetles and Passat B4\'s!!

I was looking around in ETKA. Found this with the Audi TT.

Does anyone think this would fit our cars??

That looks identical to the ones I bought from SchnellTDI. You need both the #30 rubber part (bracket) and the #31 plastic insert (carrier). There were no part numbers on the ones I bought.

Thanks 63Ragtop. I will post some pics once I get them. I ordered them today. They're NOT expensive.

But let me first get them, post some pics and maybe you can tell me if they are identical to yours??

I'm hoping that since the Audi TT is based upon the Golf platform, that the hole in our Jettas and Golfs are identical. If they are, these should work. Let's hope so.

Thanks,

Lito

I assume these lift the suspension? Above or below the coil spring? I would be VERY interested in a set. How much lift do they provide?

Thanks

Lito,
How inexpensive are these?
Others might be interrested if they can order it from their local for cheap.

E-volved,

From Impex, they're just $20.00 for all four. I am getting mine in a day so I will FIRST verify that they fit our cars too.

Check back for pics here.

Ok Guys,

Here it is. Do these look like the same thing as what was offered as a group buy?

Yes.

You just don't have the nice informative card telling the mechanic that they're there and can be used for lifting purposes.

Hey Glen.

Of course it'd be you responding first to my post
I can always count on you

Well, can someone explain how to remove the OEM plastic covers underneath where these go?

I've listed the part numbers, and they'll only cost you $20 plus shipping from Impex.

thanks,

Re: Lift pads for Audi TT fit the JETTAS, GOLFS, New Beetles and Passat B4\'s!!

To remove the plastic covers - peel em off
or pok a hole through them and peel em off.

The best way to get em in is to use a floor jack and a 27mm 1/2" socket stuck in a 2 ton hydraulic floor jack.

Pop right in.

although they don't work so smooth with the 2 ton jack the recess on the jack isn't good - need to fill the hole in the jack (i used a nice peice of 2x2 with corners trimmed grain verticle).

I use them quite a bit - seem to be good - although I noticed on my set the VW stuff was ground off (IE the logo)!

Just peel out the plugs with your bare hands and fingernails. The rubber part must be completely seated before you put in the plastic one. You will be able to easily twist the rubber part in the hole if its seated all the way.

Yeah, yours look a lot nicer without the part numbers ground off.

Hey Lito,

I've been trying to phone you but I guess your busy signal means your online.
But, I keep getting dumped into your voicemail on the cell phone too. I guess you've got it turned off? Call me, Please.

OK, I give up. When I enter the P/Ns taken from ETKA, 8N0 804 583 and 8N0 803 855, the IMPEX systems rolls over and plays dead ("Part Number not Found").

Anyone able to provide any savory tidbits of info so I may enjoy this totally excellent OE option??

thanks.

Tom, try giving them a call. If you can't find it online, they usually can find it or you can place your order right there.

Do these things sit lower than the frame stiffening rails? I like to use those to lift the car, but they're too low now that it's been lowered. (I think I'll put in NS Sofasports some day, I don't think handling is improved [more the opposite])

Tom,

They in fact sit HIGHER than the OEM pinch rails. I installed (2) of them and they are indeed higher.

So, you don't lose ANY room, in fact, probably gain a little underneath.

You can call Impex tomorrow from 10:00am to 2:00pm

Lito

PS. I've got a PDF for the install done, just can't upload them to the server. Anyone know what's wrong?? Rich??

Lito, thanks, that's good news about the clearance.

Do I need to telephone IMPEX to get these things ordered? It does not appear I can get them on line.

thx.

Here is a little PDF that I put together:

je,

I can check the one's I installed on my Golf when I get home. As best I can remember, they are at about the same height at the bottom of the pinch rail. But they may be recessed a little, giving a touch more room. I'll check to be sure.

It seems like you would be giving up some ground clearance by installing these pads. That was mentioned before when they had the "group buy".

By the way, what was the price on the group buy? Anyone remember?

One more thing...

If you look at the pic above, you'll notice that these pads sit higher than:

1. The belly pan
2. The torsion beam and suspension
3. The fuel line chase
4. Pinch rails for OEM lift points

Basically it sits very high on the underside of your car. These in NO way "lower" your clearance and would probably never be hit by anything. If you did, I think you'd have many more problems.

Lito...you aimed that one at me...didn't you...

Just kidding.

Looks like you'll be picking up a couple of those for me as well from Impex.

Re: Lift pads for Audi TT fit the JETTAS, GOLFS, New Beetles and Passat B4\'s!!

I beg my original question. Under the car there are 2 box sections to stiffen the structure. Are these pads higher than these formations, or do they sit below? I like to use these to lift the car on my floor jack, and can't now that the car sits lower to the ground.
